WEEKLY WRAP - Round 11
Date of Event : Tue Jan 16, 2018 11:51AM

Welcome to 2018 FUCCers. Not a great start to the new year with the A & B grade going down and the C grade not getting on due to the rain we had late last week. The A grade had to bat first on a wetty at Unley High after Potty lost the toss and did quite well to post a score of 110 considering the very difficult batting conditions which saw 9 of our 10 dismissals caught due to the ball popping on the soft surface. Potty (32) led the way again and Sankha (19) and Evo (18) handled the conditions the best of the rest. We had Unley in trouble at 3/27 but the improving conditions meant they weren't too troubled in chasing the target for the loss of 5 wickets. Sanj (3/25) enjoyed bowling with the breeze for once and continued his great all-round season and Mahen Fernando (2/12) made a very promising A grade debut.

The B grade bowled well to restriuct Goodwwod to 7/127 off their 40 with Joshy (3/18) and the Bakshi Boy (2/31) the best of our bowlers. But in reply we struggled against a very experienced and smart Goodwood attack and could only muster 81 with Major Payne (21) making his highest score for the FUCC. Scooty T (18) and Bakshi (15) were the only others to make double figures.

Tonight sees a unique moment in the history of the club with our 2 T20 teams playing each other in the first round of finals for the Division 3 T20 comp. Is it a FUCCdown or as some are preferring a "FUCCoff". Either way it will be a bit of fun so in addition to the 22 players, lets get plenty along tonight at Flinders and hang around for some beer and pizza after play.
